Within the enchanting landscapes of La Libertad, Huehuetenango, Guatemala, a collective commitment to excellence finds its home in the Vides Farms. This is not just a farm; it’s a symbol of collaboration and shared aspirations. The history of this endeavor is still being written, a testament to the perseverance of its members. Situated at the heart of La Libertad, Huehuetenango, Vides Farms emerges as a focal point for progress. This cooperative, harmonizing the efforts of passionate individuals, thrives on collective strength. Vides Farms A.K.A La Bolsa embraces a diverse community of individuals who share a common dream.
At elevations ranging from 1300 to 1600 meters above sea level, amidst the nurturing shade of Gravilea and Inga, the cultivation of Caturra and Bourbon cultivars flourishes. The meticulous care given to each plant includes annual pruning and manual selective picking, ensuring only the finest cherries make their way to harvest. The journey from tree to cup is meticulously choreographed. The cherries, painstakingly picked at their peak ripeness, undergo a meticulous process involving depulping and fermentation. The coffee is then spread on patios for around 15-18 days, guided by the rhythms of nature. The final step involves storing the dried coffee in warehouses, ready for the next phase of its journey.
The economic, social, and governance aspects of this cooperative reflect its commitment to holistic growth. The cooperative’s activities are driven not only by business but by a deep sense of responsibility towards the community and environment.
